Hotel St. James is situated in the city center, in Via 27 Aprile n. 18, not far from the railway station inside a typical Florentine palace built at the beginning of the 20th century. The reception is on the first floor; all our 23 rooms have their own private bathroom and are on the first and second floor. The common wide spaces, like the hall and breakfast room, are typical of this style and allowed the construction of many triple and quadruple rooms.
Hotel St. James is a family-run business. It is inviting and economic and is situated in the city center of Florence. You can walk to most parts of the artistic highlights of the city: it is near the Galleria dell’Accademia, which hosts the Statue of Michaelangelo, the Church and Museum of San Marco, the central market of San Lorenzo, and especially the Cathedral (Duomo) and the pedestrian area leading to the Old Palace (Palazzo Vecchio) and the Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio). You can also walk to the railway station (Santa Maria Novella) and the trade fair centre Fortezza Da Basso. It is in an ideal position for all those who want to visit the less famous yet very interesting corners of the city, such as the Santa Chiara clinic or the Opificio delle pietre dure (a mosaic workshop).
