Restaurant
The hotel does not have its own restaurant but shares a beautiful courtyard with four of the city's most popular restaurants. Asian, European and South African food is available and can be enjoyed in the open air courtyard or inside the restaurants. There is also an excellent delicatessen attached to the hotel. The breakfast room is very bright and small and is designed to resemble a family kitchen/breakfast room where guests can either sit at their own table, in the courtyard or at the large wooden table in the middle of the room. Colourful modern artwork by a local artist dominates the room.
Exterior
A beautiful 19th century building, the Cape Heritage is a typical design of the British colonial era in Cape Town. Just 3 storeys high and with steps leading up to the front entrance from the street the building has large sash windows.
Lobby
The hotel has a small homely lobby with original timber flooring, high ceiling, and an informal reception desk to the right. Fresh flowers are arranged on a central table and glass doors lead to a cobble stone courtyard creating a relaxed atmoshpere when you enter the hotel. There are black and white historical pictures of Cape Town on the walls and display cases full of 18th century artefacts.
Location
In the centre of Cape Town and within walking distance of the city's main train and bus stations. The Cape Heritage is close to the shops, markets, restaurants and bars of the city and is perfectly located between the 2 most popular tourist attractions: The V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain - both are within a mile of the hotel.
