There are 3 Metro stations within a 5-minute walk of the hotel, offering fast convenient access to the whole of the city and all of its attractions. Puerta del Sol (0.3 km) – One of the busiest and most well known places in Madrid. The square contains the famous clock whose bells mark the traditional eating of the Twelve Grapes and the beginning of a new year. Museo del Prado (0.8 km) – This famous museum and art gallery houses one of the world's finest collections of European art, with works from the 14th century through to the early 19th century. El Palacio Real (1 km) – This Spanish royal palace began as a hunting pavillion and became an alternative residence of the kings of Spain until the death of Alfonso XII, who died in the palace. Francisco Franco lived in the palace after the Spanish Civil War. Since Franco's death, the palace has been used as a residence for visiting heads of state.
