Rooms
Every room has its own unique atmosphere. The ingredients for this are an exciting environment and daring colours, combined with a caring staff. Each of Hotel Hellsten’s 78 rooms is unique with its own style, colours, and interior. The owner believes that every guest who visits the hotel should be surprised and inspired by the atmosphere and furnishings. Hotel Hellsten is housed in a 19th century building. Beautiful well-preserved details like porcelain stoves, stuccoes, wooden wall panels and mirrored doors are integrated with strong colours into the design. The rooms are all decorated with a blend of contemporary and antique furnishings from Europe, Asia and Africa. Seven of the hotel rooms have balconies. The rooms have the comforts and amenities necessary for a productive and relaxing stay including telephone, flat screen TV and free broadband access. There is even a telephone in the bathroom. The bathrooms all have showers and some have a bathtub as well. The bathroom walls are tiled with the luxurious Karystos stone, a rich, grey slate, which has been imported directly from the quarry on the Greek island of Evia (Euboea). The bathrooms are equipped with shower, under-floor heating, heated towel rail, hair dryer and telephone etc.
Restaurant
Welcome to Hellsten Earth Bar! The bar and the lobby are colonial style in design. The owner worked as an anthropologist and travelled extensively throughout Africa and Asia. Artefacts from his travels fill the bar; African masks, drums and arrows, Asian cupboards, Chinese drawings all make this room very special. Every Thursday the bar transforms into one of Stockholm’s premier jazz venues. We can also offer you a nice After Work all weekdays between 5-8pm! The bar is a natural focal point. Relaxed and comfortable, it is colonial in style with international and ethnic furnishings. The walls are decorated with the owner's own collection of objects from his travels in Africa, the Middle East and Asia as well as his own black and white photographs. The bar is open from 5pm everyday except Sunday. At the bar you can choose from a range of foreign and Swedish beers or have a drink prepared for you. Why not try a Mr Hellsten? The drink that was made by mistake, but loved by many! Every Thursday (summer recess in July and August) there is a jazz concert in the bar. Young, hip musicians play all types of jazz here. The only thing you know prior to the concert is that it is unpredictable and will surpass expectations.
