To visit the historic center you can avail of the subway line 2 which is just meters from the hotel and which arrives into the heart of Naples after just three stops. From here you can choose one of the many itineraries to discover the city. Worth a visit, Piazza del Plebiscito, from the plebiscite dating back to the 21st of October 1860 with which the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies became part of the Kingdom of Italy, with its seventeenth-century royal palace and Church of St. Francis; the medieval Maschio Angioino or Castel Nuovo, with its strong keeps; the monumental complex of Santa Chiara with its beautiful "cloister"; Certosa di San Martino, which offers a great view of Naples, and, a bit out of the city, Capodimonte Royal Palace with its National Museum with one of the most precious Italian art galleries where one can admire paintings by Raffaello, Tiziano, El Greco and many more. Near the hotel just 4 kilometers heading in the direction of the sea, you can find Virgiliano Park which hosts the tombs of two famous poets: Virgilio and Giacomo Leopardi. The latter died in Naples in 1837 and following the removal of his remains, he was laid to rest in the park in 1934. He is today remembered with an important monument. During your stay in Naples you will have to taste some of our traditional dishes, especially pizza, pastries and coffee, specialties for which Naples is famous worldwide. Among the many pizzas, we recommend you try the only two authentic variations to discover real flavor: the Margherita, with tomato and mozzarella, and the Marinara, with tomato, garlic and oregano. You should also try Pastiera pastries which are prepared to celebrate the arrival of summer and Easter. The recipe is based on ricotta and wheat and is nowadays found all year round in Neapolitan pastry shops. Lastly, don't forget to try "na tazzulella 'e cafè", a cup of coffee: Naples is the home of espresso coffee. It was right here that a Neapolitan gentleman invented an espresso coffee making machine, created to cut preparation time and allow people to fully taste the coffee aroma.
