PALAIS COBURG WINE ARCHIVE The thick walls of the revered Palais Coburg offer ideal conditions for the slow and careful storage and aging of great wines. This, combined with the love of the owner Peter Pühringer for such wines, is what has allowed us to collect such an impressive treasure. The cellars of the Palais house over 60,000 bottles of wine from all over the world and date back to 1727. The wine list is unique in Austria and its combination would be difficult to find anywhere in the world. The Palais Coburg has maintained the coveted Grand Award since 2007, the most famous honor in the world for a restaurant wine cellar published annually by the US wine magazine Wine Spectator. The Swiss Weinwisser has awarded the extraordinary wine collection 20 out of 20 possible points. Other prestigious international publications (such as the American Wine Spectator, the British Decanter Magazine, the German Weingourmet and the Austrian magazine Falstaff) have constantly reported this extraordinary winery. In 2014 and 2017, the Palais Coburg received the "The best wine list in the world" award and in 2015 and 2016 the "Best wine list of Europe" award from the prestigious magazine "World of Fine Wine". THE CELLARS Six cellars (wine cellar, French wine cellar, wine cellar, old world wine cellar, new world wine cellar, Yquem wine cellar) were founded in the various areas of the historical foundation of the building, each with its own characteristics, special dedication and climate ideal for storing and aging large rare wines.
