Rooms
The interiors of the St James Hotel & Club Mayfair are currently undergoing complete renovation by an international team of architects and designers led by the award-winning interior designer AMJ Design, from Berlin. Each of the luxurious 60 guest rooms and suites will reflect Althoff Hotels’ attention to detail, incorporating state-of-the-art technology and exquisite furnishings. Many will have their own balcony and views over the rooftops of the historic St James's district. The penthouse suite will feature a large rooftop terrace, unrivalled in this part of London. Exclusively designed and in harmony with the elegance of the Victorian building, the rooms have an average size of 25 m². All rooms are exclusively finished with handmade silk wallpaper, black lacquered furniture, hand crafted Murano glass chandeliers and polished natural stones in the bathroom. In addition to the listed room facilities, rooms come with laptop safes, iPod docking stations and flat-screen TVs. All rooms also include built-in wardrobes to offer a more spacious feel.
Restaurant
St James’s has become one of the most fashionable areas of London in which to dine. This reputation is now enhanced by the arrival of head chef Philipp Vogel and his team. His menu for the Andaman Restaurant is an exploration of the traditions and tastes experienced by Marco Polo on his route from Venice to China. The hotel’s bar has a comfortable, calm and sophisticated atmosphere. It serves classic English afternoon tea and exciting cocktails.
