Exterior
Hotel Breakwater was originally created by Yugoslavia-born architect Anton Skislewicz. Since then, the hotel has seen many changes in South Beach culture and atmosphere. In the 1980s, the resort's presence helped Miami South Beach regain its fabulous beginnings when it was featured in a popular Calvin Klein underwear ad fortuitously shot on top of the famous rooftop terrace. After decades of stagnation, its pastels faded, its ocean views undervalued, Breakwater Hotel has been resurrected to its original glory, almost exclusively due to Jordache Jeans purchasing this formerly fading beauty. Almost overnight, this jewel became a hot property. And with the multimillion dollar renovation Hotel Breakwater has returned to the chic and sophisticated status that it once had.
