Exterior
The structure was born in 1874 from the old patrician house of the Ingham - Whitaker family, previously built in 1856, and connected by a secret passage to the Anglican Church that still stands in front of the hotel. The house consisted of two floors, a winter garden (the present Hall) and an exotic garden that extended to the sea. Ernesto Basile, one of the greatest masters of the Art Nouveau style, transformed the hotel into what we see today in 1907.
